What are the ways through which the general public can support the work of the Australian Mitochondrial Disease Foundation?
The Foundation has made available some ways through which the entire Australian population can get involved with the work that it does and below are some of these ways;
Through supporting any of the Foundation’s events
Under this way, individuals or a group of people can decide to provide either financial or material support for any of the numerous events that the Foundation organises from time to time. In this way the Foundation is saved from using its scarce resources to fund such events itself.
Through the matching of employee donations
This involves the reaching of an agreement where an organisation decides to pay the exact amount that its employees were able to donate to the Foundation.
Through donating to the Foundation
With this avenue, both individuals and business entities that are touched by the plight of those suffering from the mitochondrial disease and their families can make various donations to the Foundation. These donations can either be a one-time donation or it can also be within certain periodic intervals like weekly, fortnightly or even monthly.
Through donating in kind
This involves the material donations that are made by the general public.
Through becoming a volunteer
This avenue has been created to give the public the chance to contribute towards the work that the Foundation does by volunteering to undertake a number of activities. These services are rendered to the Foundation free of charge and it helps to save scarce resources which would have been used to get such services from elsewhere.
Through becoming a corporate partner
The Foundation has also created this way to allow all interested corporate organisations to become their partners so that each will use that partnership to realise its objectives.
Through leaving a bequest
Members of the public can also use this avenue to will some of their properties to the Foundation in order to leave a lasting memory in the minds of those having the mitochondrial disease.
Through fundraising for the Foundation
Interested community members are also entreated to undertake fundraising activities for the Foundation in order to generate financial support for the work that it does.
