Cystic fibrosis is a genetic disease and it has the ability to cut short the life expectancy of an individual drastically. Those who have been diagnosed with the disease have a life expectancy of 37 years.

The organisation renders very vital services to each and every Queenslander suffering from cystic fibrosis and these services include;
- The provision of home physiotherapies

- Provision of counselling to patients

- Provision of equipments like wheelchairs which can be borrowed by each and every patient of cystic fibrosis

- Creation of a society which allows both patients and their carers to have the chance to interact with other patients and families
- All these are some of the services that the Cystic Fibrosis Queensland organisation provides for each and every individual living in Queensland who has the cystic fibrosis disease.
The Cystic Fibrosis Queensland organisation also has three main ways through which either an individual or a company can become a member and stand to enjoy almost all the benefits that come with being a member of the organisation. The membership plans available for Queenslanders to choose from are the Family or Individual membership, the concession membership and the membership plans for companies which go with annual membership dues of $30, $15 and $60 respectively. However, the membership plan for companies does not allow them to partake in the voting processes of the organisation but the other plans allow the individual to vote in the organisation.
How to become actively involved in what we do
There are some laid down ways through which the general Queensland community can help the organisation with the services that we have been rendering to those with cystic fibrosis in Queensland and they are;
Leaving a bequest
This is for those who wish to be of immense help to people with cystic fibrosis even when they are dead and gone forever. Such people add the organisation’s name to the list of those who should get a share of his or her property when he or she is no longer alive. The organisation therefore stands to gain a variety of things from such supportive ways which are all used in providing appropriate care and support for those living with cystic fibrosis in Queensland.
Fundraising for CFQ
The chance is also given to each and every member of Queensland who wishes to organise various events in a bid to raise funds for the organisation to help with the provision of all the services that are rendered to cystic fibrosis patients.
This has to do with the giving of either financial or infrastructural materials to the organisation to help it carry on with the noble work that it has for some time now been doing for people in Queensland.
This is the avenue for those who are willing to donate their time and being to the organisation and undertakes various activities geared towards helping to either render services to patients of cystic fibrosis or raise funds for the organisation.
Attending an event
There are numerous events that are organised by the organisation every year and the public is given the chance to purchase tickets and attend any of these events and also to contribute towards the services that are rendered to patients of cystic fibrosis during the event.
Becoming a corporate partner of CFQ
This is for those business organisations within the community who are willing to enter into a partnership with CFQ. Both members are made to attain whatever goals they have set to achieve through such a partnership.
The CFQ has always been dedicated to caring for patients of cystic fibrosis and that is something that it will always be committed to.
