The Northern Beaches Interchange came into existence in the year 1982 and was by then referred to as the Manly Warringah Interchange. The name Northern Beaches Interchange was adopted in the year 1991. It was mainly established to provide various kinds of services to each and every individual who had any kind of disability and was living in the community.

The Northern Beaches Interchange has a vision which is to see to it each individual with a disability gets provided with all the support that he or she needs.

The mission of the Northern Beaches Interchange is to help create a society where each and every disabled individual gets a chance to realise his or her potentials without being limited by his or her disability.

What are the services provided by the Northern Beaches Interchange?
The Northern Beaches Interchange provides a number of essential and appropriate services to people with disabilities and their families. These services are rendered to ensure that the lives of people with disabilities and those who care for them are enhanced. These services have been grouped into three main categories and they are;
- Respite services
- Recreational services
- Supportive services
- Respite services
These are services that are rendered with the sole aim of helping to give people with disabilities and their carers some much needed time away from the effects brought about by the disability. It is mainly to provide a kind of time out for those with disability and the people who care for them.
Recreational services
These services are provided with the aim to helping people with disabilities and those who care for them make new friends and have fun with others with the same health conditions.
Supportive services
These services are provided to make sure that people with disabilities in the community are supported in the best possible way so that they can also live a very independent and well enhanced life that allows them to realise their full potentials.

The Northern Beaches Interchange has been providing its essential services to people with disabilities since the time that it was formed without charging anything and as such it also seeks the support of community members so that it can keep on helping people with disabilities.
