Who we are
The Ronald McDonald House North Queensland is a charity organization that was formed in the year 2004 to help those families with kids who are very sick. They render all kinds of services which help such families and their kids to go through such trying times and periods without being under so much stress and pressure.
The Ronald McDonald House North Queensland has been providing these supportive services to the families of very sick kids throughout the Northern and North-Western parts of Queensland from the time of its inception up to date.
The first branch of this charity organization was formed in the year 1874 in the United States of America and in the year 1981 the first branch was established in Australia. It was not until the year 2004 that North Queensland also got its own branch to help with the rendering of its numerous services to the families of children who were very sick.
The Ronald McDonald House North Queensland values the use of love in the rendering of all its services to people so as to let them also know that they are very important. It is a charity organization that was solely established with loving heart and a smiling face.
It is the mission of the Ronald McDonald House North Queensland to see to it that each and every person within the Northern part of Queensland gets provided with services that are rendered without any limitations.
It is also its mission to see to it that love is instilled in each and every individual in North Queensland especially those with sick kids.
To see to it that North Queenslanders are provided with quality services that will help create an environment that exudes with love towards all people.
Services provided by the Ronald McDonald House North Queensland
The organization provides families of kids who are very sick with services that are aimed at helping to fill their lives with love and happiness. Some of these services that are provided by the organization include;
The provision of houses
These deals with the making of various housing facilities available in order to provide appropriate accommodation for very sick kids and their families. Such houses are usually situated at the women and children’s ward.
The provision of family rooms
These deals with creating a very serene room environment which family members who come to visit their kids can make use of when they are waiting for them. The rooms are made in such a way that it serves as a form of helping to ease the pressure on family members when they come for visitations.
The provision of family retreats
This also deal with the creation of a very conducive atmosphere which family members of sick kids can go from time to time in order to ease some of the stress which have built up within them. This serves to provide a way for dealing with all the problems that come with looking after a very sick child.
The provision of learning programs
This deal with the provision of an educational instructor who helps children who are very sick or are recuperating to learn whilst they are on admission. The main aim of this program is to make sure that such children are not left behind on the educational ladder as a result of their sickness.
The provision of the Charlie Bell scholarship
This is the provision of an aid to kids who have their educational life disrupted through sickness. It is given with the aim of helping such kids to either continue with their education or pursue a chosen career path.
The provision of care mobile services
This is the provision of supportive services to families of very sick kids who are located at very remote areas. This is to ensure that they are saved from the various problems associated with making such journeys to the cities.
The provision of cord blood banks
This is the provision of funds to various facilities to help them have in store blood from the human umbilical cord which helps in the treating of sicknesses like leukaemia and other very dangerous sicknesses associated with the bone marrow.

The organization depends solely on the generosity of the entire North Queensland populace in order to keep on providing its services to such families and their kids. This has led to the creation of various ways which allows the community members to also offer their help to the organization. Some of these ways include;
