Who we are
The Telethon Juvenile Diabetes Family Centre is an institution that has been formed to see to it that the growing needs of people who were diagnosed as being Type 1 diabetic patients were provided with services that will help them to live comfortably in the various communities within Western Australia.
What is the vision of the Telethon Juvenile Diabetes Family Centre?
The vision of the Centre is to help with the creation of a society that fully aware of the effects of Type 1 diabetes and therefore does everything possible to see to it that children with such health conditions are catered for properly.
What is the mission of the Telethon Juvenile Diabetes Family Centre?
The mission of the Telethon Juvenile Diabetes Family Centre is to develop a community of Western Australians who are well equipped with all the information and awareness that they need about Type 1 diabetes and how to effectively and efficiently care for people who are diagnosed with it.

Services rendered by the Telethon Juvenile Diabetes Family Centre
There are so many services that the Telethon Juvenile Diabetes Family Centre provides for children. These services are placed under three (3) main groups and each group has its own unique services that are rendered. The three main groups are;
The provision of information and educational services
These are services that are provided with the aim of helping to educate family members with the best individualised ways that they can use in caring for their children who have Type 1 diabetes. This makes it possible for such families to really be in a better position when it comes to providing for the needs of their diabetic child.
The provision of peer supportive services
These are services that are provided by the Centre to see to it that children who have already been diagnosed with the Type 1 diabetes provide emotional and psychological support to those who have just found out their status. It is always very inspiring to get support from someone who has been through what you are going through currently.
The provision of awareness creation and advocacy services
These services are provided to see to it that family members and the entire community are educated on the essence of coming together to support children who have been diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes.
