Latest Draw 457If you’re looking to get away from it all but don’t want to give up on life’s little luxuries, this is the draw for you. The newest offering from the Endeavour Foundation is an opulent four-bedroom home with magnificent views of the Glass House Mountains. This classic Queenslander is only half an hour from the beaches of Caloundra but a lifetime away from the hustle and noise of the city.
The Sunshine Coast Hinterland is home to some pretty spectacular properties, and this one definitely stands among them. A huge verandah looks out onto the neighbouring botanic gardens and the rolling hills beyond. You can see the Glass House Mountains from your hot tub and enjoy unimpeded views of the hinterland from the luxurious master suite. Your guests will have their own private quarters, and everyone will find room to relax and unwind in any of the multiple seating areas throughout the home.
This $1.4 million first prize includes designer furnishings, a fully loaded electricals package, and $10,000 in gold bullion to help pay for rates or travel to your new residence.
The prize home is located about 4km from the centre of Maleny, a small community of just under 3,500 residents. The town sits about 450 metres above sea level on the Blackall Range of the Sunshine Coast. A visit to the Mary Cairncross Reserve will give you a glimpse of what the area looked like before European settlement, covered with dense rainforest and hardwood.
Like many other towns along the hinterland tourist route, Maleny is filled with art galleries, boutique specialty shops and local points of interest. Many are co-ops and complement the alternative vibe you’ll find throughout the region. The nearby Baroon Pocket Dam is a great place to sail, fish or enjoy a picnic after a leisurely stroll down the rainforest walking track.
Maleny has all of the amenities you’ll need if you have a family, including a high school and several alternative schools. If you feel like wandering further afield, you’re only forty-five minutes from the Sunshine Coast Airport. A ten-minute drive to Landsborough puts you on the train to Brisbane, just in case you need a reminder of how lucky you are to finally be living away from all that.
The first thing you’ll notice when you walk into this gorgeous home is the view. It’s expansive, majestic, and all-encompassing. Full-length glazing between the living area and the rear deck slide away to reveal a breathtaking panorama that stretches as far as the eye can see. The verandah itself spans the back of the house with plenty of room for al fresco dining alongside the BBQ. The gleaming hardwood also leads to an outdoor lounge area and a few steps that take you to the hot tub. Imagine watching the sun setting over the Glass House Mountains as you sip a glass of champagne and feel all your troubles melt away.
Inside, you’ll feel just as spoilt by the multiple living areas and lounges. A unique double-sided fireplace adds warmth and ambiance to both the main living room and cozy study. At the front of the house, you can relax with a book in a bright octagonal space that’s surrounded by windows. Even your guests will feel like royalty with their own ensuite and deck, tucked away in the second spacious octagonal room. The master bedroom opens onto the verandah and has a large walk-in robe and ensuite. You can even see the view from the floor-to-ceiling windows alongside the soaking tub!
The home features a superior design package that integrates a monochromatic palette with touches of accent colours and textured fabrics. Golden fixtures, natural wood floors and streamlined appliances all add to the tone of refined luxury and exquisite taste. If you’re the lucky winner in Endeavour draw #414, you’ll never have to wonder about what it feels like to live like a millionaire. You’ll already be there.
The exterior of the home presents a charming image with slate blue siding, a white roof and decorative railings. As you enter the bright red door, you’ll be swept away by the gleaming floors, the lush furnishings, and the veritable abundance of natural light. This really is a million-dollar home with a priceless view.
