We’ve come to expect great things from the RSL Art Union Prize Home Lottery. Trendy city apartments, hinterland hideaways, and luxury homes up and down the Sunshine and Gold Coasts. Every now and again, however, they still have the power to surprise.
Last year, it came with the Sydney Beach House in draw #339. The prize package was worth just shy of $4 million and made all the papers. You may even remember seeing it featured on A Current Affair. Incredibly, the RSL is all set to do it all over again.
The first prize package to be won in the RSL draw #349 is a four-bedroom home that is quite literally on the beach. Walk out the back door, over a few steps of grass, and feel your toes sink into the warm white sands of Palm Beach. This home was custom built by the RSL who have found every possible way to make the most of its movie-star location.

You’ll enjoy an unimpeded view of the ocean from all three levels of the house, and when you’re flipping burgers on your rooftop patio, you’ll be able to see all the way to Surfers Paradise in one direction and down to Coolangatta Beach in the other. This place gives a whole new meaning to being above it all, and if you’re the lucky winner, we expect it’ll be a very long time before your feet hit the ground again
Location is Everything
The RSL Prize Home is located on Jefferson Lane which predates the sub-division of this part of the Gold Coast. The other streets run in parallel between the beach and the highway, but Jefferson Lane cuts across them all and follows the coast. You can still see survivors of the original Gold Coast “beach shacks” which are now situated on land valued in the millions of dollars. If you win this amazing prize home, you’ll be living on a street with nothing but millionaires for neighbours.
Palm Beach itself has won Queensland’s “Cleanest Beach” award no less than three times. The beach runs between Tallebudgera Creek and Currumbin Creek, and the home is located roughly at the mid-point between the two extremities. Burleigh Head National Park and the Tumgun Lookout are a stroll through the sand to the north, while a walk to the south will take you to the Gold Coast suburb of Currumbin which lies just across the border from New South Wales.
The fishing reefs off the Palm Beach shore among the most bountiful on the Gold Coast and provide a popular destination for sportsmen. The beach is extremely safe, patrolled by the both the Palm Beach Surf Life Saving Club and the Pacific Surf Life Saving Club. The Tallebudgera Creek estuary is serviced by the Neptune Royal Life Saving Club, the first female only club of its kind in Australia.
Get used to being totally catered to because on Palm Beach, you’re going to find yourself well looked after.

Life on the Gold Coast
The Gold Coast begins just to the south of Brisbane and runs all the way to the north-east border of New South Wales. It is technically a city, although the suburbs spread along this stretch of coast each have a distinct character and are more like small towns in themselves. Over half a million people reside on the Gold Coast, making it the largest non-capital city in Australia.
Millions of tourists come to visit every year and guest rooms alone contribute over $300 million to the local economy. They come for the beach, the surfing, and a truly stunning number of theme parks. If you ever get tired of looking at the ocean in your back yard, you can head for Dreamworld, Seaworld, and every other aquatic world imaginable along with several wildlife parks that feature iconic Australian animals.
Surfers Paradise is probably the most famous region of the Gold Coast and its towering QI building can be seen for miles. It’s the tallest building in Australia and the observation deck at level 77 offers a view that goes from Brisbane to Byron Bay.
The Gold Coast is also a hub for sports fans, hosting the Gold Coast 600 every Spring, a world-class marathon in the winter, and an annual leg of the ASP World Tour of surfing. Development of additional sporting facilities is expected following the Gold Coast’s successful bid to host the Commonwealth Games in 2018.
Along with all of that, you can expect to see the occasional celebrity dining on the Coast as it has become a darling of the film industry. The region has several studio soundstages, and has played host to a number of major motion pictures. Superman Returns, Unbroken, and Marvel’s upcoming Thor feature were all made on the Gold Coast.
Like we said, it’s a movie star setting for a millionaire lifestyle.

Thank You for Your Support of the RSL Art Union Prize Home Lotteries
They’ve been around for almost a hundred years and the RSL Home Lotteries have raise millions to help support Australian veterans and their families. By giving away almost $26 million in prizes each year, the Returned and Services League of Australia provides assistance with mental health issues, housing, education, claims, and financial problems to hundreds of individual service men and women and their families.
The RSL also maintains a vital peer network for those who have completed their service and understand the many challenges of re-entering civilian life. Funding also provides support for the families of the fallen in their time of tragic loss.
This support is made possible by ticket buyers who have the chance to win extravagant homes, weekend retreats and urban apartments. The much-anticipated annual Golden Treasure draw even gives one lucky winner and entire apartment complex and changes their life forever.
We thank you for your support of this important charity, and wish you the very best of luck in Draw 349. We hope that before long, you’ll be sinking your toes in the sands of Palm Beach and wondering idly which wine to choose with dinner.
